BUDDY the kitten

Buddy is our new kitten we adopted September 30, 2017.  We’ve had the Scout for over 9 years, but 1 week before we got Buddy, the Scout went missing.  So a week after Scout’s passing, we adopted Buddy – but then the most bizarre thing ever:  the day after we brought Buddy home, Scout showed up!

Only thing we can figure is she must have gotten sick and hid in our house for 8 days!

So now Kim and I are thoroughly entertained everyday by watching these 2 cats play together!

The person from whom we adopted BUDDY told us she was born on July 21!  That same birthday as the SCOUT, only 9 years apart!

We brought Buddy home on a Saturday evening and we thought she was as a he as he was so tiny we couldn’t tell for sure.   We were thinking of a name and we came up with BUDDY named after Kim’s mom’s dog.

Kim’s mom passed away unexpectedly earlier in the year and so we named our new kitten BUDDY in memory of Kim’s mom. Then the next Monday, we brought Buddy to the Red Barn for her first check-up and Dr. Michael mentioned, “She sure is a cutie!”

“He’s a she?”, I asked, “Are you sure?”

“Well… I’m the doctor, that’s what you’re paying me for.”

Even though BUDDY is a male’s name, by this time, we already got so used to the name, we kept it.  Although, I sometimes call her Nugget, as in Hershey Nugget.
