DINNER AND A SHOW?

(rev 2/2023)

Last week I had the joy of accompanying Chloe to her music program.  Also in attendance was Beatrice, her mom.  And… Arnella, Chloe’s cousin also went along.  Arnella was in the 2nd-grade program.

Chloe’s kindergarten class did a great job and enjoyed being the center of attention.

There are over 20 different countries and cultures in the elementary school.  I remember when we first moved to Kentwood/Culterville community in 1971, only white upper-middle class Christian protestants were in the area.  Now, I love seeing all the different races and backgrounds in the region.

A BLAST FROM THE PAST:

In 1973, the Kentwood High School auditorium was brand new.

Hillside Church was only a couple of years old and we were meeting at South Christian High School, but that year, South began a major renovation so Hillside held services at the new Kentwood High School.  My friends and I had so much fun running around the new high school after church.

Every time I visit Kentwood’s auditorium, I remember the summer of 1973.
