A DAY IN THE LIVES

CHECK BACK OFTEN!

I’LL UPDATE THIS PAGE EVERY WEEK!

This is the first picture of Gracie-girl I took.

I’ve had several kittens in my lifetime, but never one as extroverted and self-assured as Gracie.  After we got her home, I closed her in a bathroom with food and water for about hour she she could get a sense of a safe space.  Then I opened the door so she could explore her new home.

A couple hours later, as I was watching the Bengals/Giants game, Grace jumped on my lap for a formal meet and greet.  She purred the rest of the game.

For the obvious reason, Gracie was so pleased when the Bengals won the game.

Wow!…  are all these toys for me, dad?

This was going to be our Halloween costume.  I was going to wear an eye patch and pirate hat and Grace was going to get a parrot costume.  But then I pointed out our neighbors probably would not give out cat treats, so we decided to stay home that night.

This was the day after we adopted Calvin.

We were at the vet’s office waiting for the doctor to come for his new kitten checkup and to get his vaccine schedule started.   But first, several vet techs had to hold Calvin.

There’s something about holding a kitten, isn’t there?

You know what’s a million dollar idea?  If someone could invent a drug that makes your brain think you’re holding a kitten.

After we returned home from the vet, a nice relaxing cat nap.

The first day, both cats avoided each other.

The second day, they just stared and try to intimidate each other.

The third day – best friends!  They love to play together, eat together, and sleep together.  They even accompany each other to the litter box!

It’s a good thing cats don’t have to work at an office job – as soon as their computer warmed up in the morning, they would take a nap.

The ultimate in 2 cats bonding: they allow the other to groom them.

Sibling rivalry: they wrestle who gets to sit on the back of my office chair while I update this web page.

Gracie-girl relaxing with dad,

or…  dad relaxing with Gracie-girl…

… well either way, we’re both gelling up as we fall into a cat nap.

Calvin-cat and dad.  Isn’t he a cutie… the cat I mean.
