We adopted this beautiful kitten on Sunday October 13. She’s a beautiful short haired kitten with a Bengal pattern along her back and a leopard spotted belly. She has a tabby fur coat which is the most common type of fur. Tabby coats have an M shape on their forehead and usually 1 or 2 arm bands on their front legs.
We got her from a very nice girl in Belding who took very good care of her for the first 10 weeks of her life.
I believe this girl’s name is Gracelynn. So we decided to name our new kitten Grace to honor the girl who raised our kitten.
The next day I took her to the vet for a new kitten checkup and the vet noted Grace was in very good health and exceptionally well socialized which is probably due to the exceptional care and love she got!
Kim and I aren’t sure what the exact story is, so we decided to make one up: it’s story about a young girl who probably had the best summer of her life being a witness to the miracle of new life and then caring for and nurturing this new life. Gracie-cat no doubt felt loved and valued so that makes Gracelyn, Grace’s bff and a blessing from God.
Gracelyn did such a great job caring for our new kitten, Grace, that I wonder what she is going to be when she’s older. It’ll probably be a job where she cares for and helps others; maybe a nurse… or, maybe a teacher. Or… maybe a veterinarian! Then she could take care of cats all the time!
Veterinarians are in very short supply now. Apparently a lot of people got pets during COVID and there are a lower number of people graduating from veterinary school. So as a result – has anyone else noticed how expensive veterinarian care is now?
